Chris Warburton, Head of Athletics and Head of Academic PE Mr Warburton joined the School as Head of Athletics in January 2018 and made a significant contribution to all aspects of the sports programme. He was instrumental to Brentwood School’s achievements in 2019: all four athletics teams reached the regional A final, and the year 14 girls progressed to 2nd place in the National finals. Mr Warburton was also appointed as Head of Academic PE in September 2020 amidst the challenging time of the pandemic. But his relentless organisation and diligence ensured all students received the best outcomes possible. Cecilia Alstofi, Teacher of Physics Mx Astolfi was an integral part of the Physics Department from January 2018. Not only were they a strong proponent of the IB course, but also integral to its success in Physics. They were strongly committed to the wellbeing and development of students, a firm supporter of new Physics staff and a tireless supporter of the VSA. It will be hard to imagine the Physics Department without them. Dave Wood, Teacher of Mathematics Mr Wood joined the School in September 2017 and soon endeared himself to the Department and the students in the School. His excellent Maths teaching made him a real asset to the Maths Department. Mr Wood was also very well known for being Head of squash and giving up a lot of free time outside of school to coach the students. Mr Wood was very dedicated to his students and went above and beyond to help them. He will truly be missed by students and staff. He is moving to become a Maths teacher at Box Hill School and we wish him the best. 5 years 221
