Rachel Dawick Teacher of English Miss Dawick made valuable contributions to the English KS3 curriculum over her 3-year tenure, producing lessons that combine different artistic modes to promote her love of literature. Her passion for the Arts is such that she set up a weekly ‘Page to Stage’ Creative Writing Club, in which younger students would look at extracts from works of fiction and turn them into musical extracts. In 2021, Miss Dawick joined the Outdoor Education Planning Committee and was leading a plan to understand how outdoor spaces can be used to access various subjects’ curriculums with a view to promoting outdoor education across the curriculum, linking with current schemes of work. Poppy Lake Teacher of PE Ms Lake joined Brentwood in September 2019, making a significant impact in the short time she was with us in what had been a challenging time due to the number of lockdowns. She always made huge efforts to ensure her students got the best learning experience possible, whether in athletics or academic PE. She was extremely proactive and always ready to take on responsibility - such as her work in the Sport Enrichment programme, which proved invaluable to the students who were lucky enough to take part. to Director of Sixth Form and steered the team with great skill through a series of national lockdowns during the COVID pandemic. Again, in this role, she supported many students, both academically and pastorally, guiding them on their journey to adulthood. 223
