Brentwoodian 2022

over 80 Year 7 and 8 students. The chorus and solo singing, under the baton of the irrepressible Mr El-Holiby, was simply fantastic with more than a hint of wonderful things to come in the future. The year ended in true Music Department style with an incredible Prom Concert in Courage Hall, which featured a diverse range of solo music performed by our ever-talented Upper Sixth students, accompanied by full ensembles (whether that be Sinfonia or Big Band.) The night was an incredible culmination of a year of monumental achievement, and many tears were shed as we said goodbye to the Upper Sixth. No year would be complete without a music tour - this year to the stunning Lake Garda region of Italy, where over 60 pupils performed in 4 high-profile Big Band and Choral concerts of incredible success. This year has seen success upon success for the Music Department, and we cannot wait to see what next year’s triumphs bring. By Florian Cooper, Director of Music and Performing Arts 60
