Brentwoodian 2022

"school sport is back and better than ever" Brentwood has enjoyed an outstanding year of sport, with high participation rates sitting alongside national success in a range of activities. No fewer than 1,000 students have represented the School, taking part in 13 different sports. The achievements across all sports have been exceptional, with both individuals and teams competing on the national stage. There are almost too many successes to mention, however we must highlight all the teams who qualified for their respective national finals including: U16 girls’ athletics teams U14 boys’ swimming team U14 and U16 girls’ netball teams U18 boys’ golf team U16 girls’ squash team U18 fencing squad U18 equestrian squad Other successes included our U12 and U13 cricket teams winning their County finals at the end of the Trinity term, whilst the U16 and U18 rugby teams also showcased their quality by winning their respective County finals. There was also success in tennis, where Brentwood was victorious in the U14 doubles at the Independent Schools’ championships. It has also been an outstanding year for the football programme, with the 1st XI winning the Elgin league for the first time in the School’s history. Five of our students were also selected for the ISFA national squads. We’re extremely proud of these accolades, but equally pleased with the consistent commitment of all our students, who represent the School with pride every Saturday. After an interrupted few years, we can finally say that school sport is back and better than ever - here’s to another year of participation and excellence.
