Brentwoodian 2022

"It takes time, perseverance and determination" ATHLETICS We have had a very successful Athletics season this year with multiple PB’s, Essex standards and an amazing team effort that got us through to the Nationals Track and Field Cup. Our district team consisted of Trinity Baptist, Ishneet Battu, Sophie Dunlevey, Imogen Eastwood, Lois Eldridge, Tayla James, Jemimah Knightbridge, Amara Kleanthous, Skye Lake, Lizzie McCallum, Fran Munday, Amelia Murphy, Jessica Oldham, Lizzy Oliver, Bella Peacock, Louella Peers, Brooke Skinner, Lily Smith, Daisy Strouts and Sophie Young. All of these girls and many more have worked incredibly hard this season and many personal advancements have been made, resulting in a strong and supportive team spirit. A huge well done must go to our shot putter,Trinity Baptist, for not only getting through to and winning English Schools but also setting a new Essex record! Our Year 9 Girls have taken the District Athletics by storm with many medals being won and personal achievements reached including an excellent relay race to finish off the day! You may think Athletics is as simple as throwing a ball or jumping over a bar or jumping into a sandpit, but it is so much more than that. It takes time, perseverance and determination all of which the Year 9 Girls have shown in this athletic season. We are beyond proud of them and the future for this team is definitely a bright one, however we could not do it without our brilliant coaches, Mrs Juniper and Mrs Lazenby who have guided and encouraged us throughout this season with great coaching expertise.
