Myland Community Council Annual Report 2020

We have redesigned the Boxing Day Walk banner – which you will see a bit nearer the time on the railings of St Michaels Church Hall – it now has more relevant and up-to-date information, Although outside our parish, we commented on the Public Consultation on the proposed A120/A133 Link Road and Rapid Transit System. We addressed CBC’s Policy and Public Initiatives Panel on the subject of shared (unsegregated) footways/cycleways. It was recommend by this Panel that a letter would be sent to ECC noting protocols and statutory consultation rights regarding cycleway installations, and stating CBC’s support for segregated cycleways wherever feasible. Our monitoring of the PRoW network has shown that at least 18 Public Rights of Way (PRoW), in Myland are obstructed or all but extinguished. Eight ProWs are either shared or segregated cycleways; six are regularly used by vehicular traffic’ two are obstructed by buildings and FP39 is obstructed by the A12. In conjunction with the Neighbourhood Plan Working Group, we are looking at the possibility of three new or improved links in the PRoW network. ECC are scheduled to inspect the PRoW in Myland sometime in 2020/21. We are extremely pleased to welcome back as a member of this group the former Cllr. Richard Beachamp and a new Councillor – Cllr. Clare Williams. Cllr Robert Johnstone Chair, Myland Access Group
