Myland Community Council Annual Report 2020

Members Cllr Pete Hewitt (Chair) Cllr David Clouston Mr Chris Law (Braiswick) Mr Marcus Poole (Myland) Report Since the Plan’s successful completion in late 2016 some members of the Group that developed the Plan have stayed together to regularly monitor the Plan’s projects and policies. Monitoring looks to see whether there is sufficient action happening to address the Plan’s vision and enhance community quality of life. This is done across all aspects covered by the Plan; housing, education, employment, environment, social amenity, sport and leisure, roads and transport and the public realm. Whilst the Group is generally satisfied with the results of this MCC has during the last year engaged with Essex County Council on the schools provision at Chesterwell and local transport matters. In some cases the Group leads on specific actions, such as Myland Mapping which is close to providing on-line and hardcopy views of pedestrian and cycle routes to key and desirable locations across Myland and into neighbouring areas, and Greening the Parish which plans in the near future to start providing planters and direct planting to brighten up the public realm with seasonal colours. When the Plan was first adopted it was decided that a formal review point should be identified to re-examine the Plans objectives and policies. This was set at 2021 as it was thought that after five years of development growth Myland would be a different place in terms of its resident numbers and general environment. This will be done and during the coming year some foundation work will shape that review and it is expected it should embrace community input. NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN WORKING GROUP
