Council Reports 11 How to keep up to date: • Community noticeboards - upcoming local events and a list of councillors • Myland Community Council Facebook page - news and updates • Website - information on recycling, councillor contact details, council and committee meeting agendas and minutes • Full council meetings - the public are welcome to attend meetings and there’s an opportunity at each meeting for residents to raise local matters of concern Cllr Lindsey Ilsley Communite Engagement Lead Sports and Leisure Over recent months, Myland CC has supported and promoted many sports clubs and leisure activities within the community and surrounding areas to create options for all residents and young people to help improve both their physical and mental wellbeing. Myland has many parks and open spaces for walking, a lake in High Woods Country Park for fishing, plus lots of local sports clubs and recreational activities. However, did you know there are also the following clubs and activities right on your doorstep: • Colchester Sports Park - (located opposite the football stadium on Junction 28 of the A12) where you can walk, cycle, play badminton, table tennis and pickle ball. You can join the gym and/or join a host of fitness classes based there. It is also the home of Colchester Archery Club and Colchester Rugby Union Club (Visit Colchester Sports Park website HERE; Tel: 01206 282000) • Bowls Club - Severalls Bowls Club is in Kirby Drive off Mill Road and recently benefitted from a grant to improve it’s facilities.
