Mylander - Issue 101

Churches The Well Methodist Church The Community Pantry (fortnightly) and the Warm Welcome (weekly) re-commenced in September and will continue during the school term on Tuesdays from 12noon to 4.00pm. These two activities are open to everyone. We celebrated Harvest with an All-Age Worship service at the end of September, led by our minister, Rev Chris Preece. Donations of goods for Colchester Foodbank were received at the service which was followed by a Buffet Lunch. As in times past, we invite members of the community to join us, as Christmas approaches, in supporting two local charities - St Helena Hospice and Colchester Engagement & Next Steps (formerly Colchester Night Shelter). We are collecting toiletries for the Hospice and for CENS food, such as tea, coffee, sugar, hot chocolate, UHT milk, squash, vegetable oil, gravy granules, ketchup, mayonnaise, stock cubes, salt and pepper as well as toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, deodorant and men’s razors. Donations may be brought on any Tuesday (12noon to 4.00pm) or to our Caring Service on Sunday 24th November at 10.30am when we have a speaker telling us about the work of St Helena Hospice. Details of our Christmas celebrations will be found elsewhere in this magazine, on the Churches Together Christmas Greetings. Our own Candlelit Carol Service is on Sunday 22nd December at 4.00pm led by Rev Chris Preece and followed by light refreshments. Our project to modernize our buildings and to make them more accessible, continues, and drawings and costing estimates have been made. We pray regularly for places where readers of this magazine live. If you have a particular prayer request, please let us know. Though this is the last issue of the Mylander, more information about our church is always available on our website: Our church web site can be found HERE Keith and Di Thompson Tel: Col 844252 [email protected] 14
