Mylander - Issue 101

25 From inside the community We are now looking forward to a new year, which we hope will bring us all a sense of peace as we enjoy more happy times together. The meetings from the last three months include a Chocolate Tasting Evening, arranged by our Committee Members. In September, Ian Anderson introduced us to the History and Natural History of Spices. In October, Angie Jones gave us an insight into the Slow Lanes of Suffolk and Essex. She set us a quiz to end her talk in which she shared photos of local places she had visited. Future evenings planned are ‘It’s all about Alpacas’, a talk by Jayne Kidger in November. For December, we shall be having lunch at the Cricketers instead of our usual evening meeting and in January, Lindsey Barrell will be presenting an intriguing talk called Burlesque, me and W.I.! We take this opportunity of wishing you all a very happy, healthy and peaceful 2025 and remember that as we face the cold days of winter, there will always be a warm welcome to be found on the first Friday of the month at the Highwoods Community Centre at 7.15pm.
