Mylander - Issue 101

Learning & Growing Myland Pre-School CIC We returned to preschool on Monday 9th September, and we have had a good start to the new term and were very excited about starting back and welcoming all the children old and new, who have all settled in well. We said farewell to 23 children at our pre-school graduation in July and we wish them well as they take the next step in their journey at primary school. On Monday 7th October, we had a Bag to School collection to help raise much needed funds for preschool. As I write this, I do not know the weight collected or the amount raised. We have had themes of all about me, my family, my body, my senses, autumn, food and harvest throughout this half term and we will have themes of fireworks and Diwali, the armed forces and remembrance, road safety and Christmas throughout next half term. The children will be creating a harvest display in the Church for their Harvest Festival on the 13th October. We will put all our harvest donations for the Foodbank in front of our display. On Monday 11th October we have the photographer coming into preschool from Rob Sambrook photography and parent’s will then have the hard decision of which of the lovely photos they order, but they will make great Christmas presents! On Friday 18th October we are taking part in the Wear It Pink day raising funds and awareness for Breast Cancer. All the children are encouraged to wear pink and make a donation and we are holding a coffee morning from 9-11am at the Parish Halls. On Monday 11th November we will be going into St Michaels Church to hear the last post sounded for 11am for Remembrance Day. We will be having Pudsey days in the week of 11th – 15th November, where we will be wearing our Children in Need clothing or something yellow or spotty to raise funds for Children in Need. The week of 9th – 13th December will see us wearing our Christmas jumpers and raising funds for Save the Children Our Nativity this year will be in the Church on Tuesday 17th December at 10.30am. You are welcome to come along and watch and get into the Christmas spirit! There will be refreshments following the nativity in the Parish Halls. 29
