5 Last but not least, thanks to Herbert, our street officer, who in all weathers keeps our open spaces and streets as clear of litter as is manageable in such a huge area as well helping out with the recycling container pick up service. Having worked on several Committees over the years, I have felt lucky that Myland Community Council has had a team of councillors who have always worked together, maintaining high standards in financial management and engaging with stakeholders and the community. In every way, the council continues to exceed standards and to set the benchmark, and as a result we are recognised as highly effective by the outside bodies we come into contact with.
