Dennis Barrett later signed for the U’s. “Mixie” Barrett also played for Severalls in the Saturday Colchester and East Essex Premier League for whom he was a prolific goalscorer, and was a talented cricketer both as a bowler and batsman with Colchester and East Essex. Others on the Mile End Rangers books were Brian and David Balls (brothers of Pete), Michael “Dougie” Douglas, Brian Lomax, Bob Russell (brother of “Rusty”), Roy Foley, Bob Townes, Les Ward and Norman Hinson.
