Mylander - Issue 85

23 From inside the community Mother’s Union Like many other organisations, we are unable to hold meetings at the moment. We are still keeping in touch with all our members and recently sent out a newsletter to each one of them. As individuals, we shall be doing shoeboxes for children who would otherwise have nothing and bring them to Church for our Shoebox Service on November 15th. With the present bans, we are unable to hold our usual Christmas Carol Service (no singing in Church). We might be able to do a Christmassy Service with appropriate readings and poems, if there are no more “lockdowns” or similar. Like everyone else we have to obey the rules of the day. Roll on a return to some sort of normality. Meanwhile the work of M. U. goes on here and in other parts of the world. Did you know we work in many countries helping people in their hour of need? There may be other things you don’t know about us. When we are able to meet again, why not come along to see for yourself? Our usual meetings are on the first Wednesday of each month starting at 2.30pm. Everyone is welcome. June Chandler, M.U.
