8 Council Reports MCC wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the Consortium Directors, staff and especially the Site Manager Mr Dan Rawcliffe for their support especially the financing and restoration of the memorial and creation of the new garden. The Consortium have also donated a ‘soldier’s bench’ which will be sited within the garden. The memorial site has been formally adopted by Myland Community Council (MCC) who will be responsible for its future care and protection. One of the good things to have come out of the current situation is that we are all a little more inclined to include walking and cycling as part of our daily routine. As part of our support and encouragement of this, the Myland Access Group will be leading a short walk on the last Saturday of every month. We will start from the War Memorial at 10:00 am on Saturday 31st of October, (probably too late for this issue!), and then on Saturday 28th of November, and then Saturday 26th of December – Yes, the Boxing Day Walk! We will continue next year on Saturday 30th January, February 27th, March 27th... and so on.
