Cllr Robert Johnstone New Pride of Myland Youth Achievement Award Councillor Jocelyn Law explains how this new Council award will recognise the contribution our young people make to our community. We know that our young people are full of great ideas and make a positive contribution through their school or community activities. The past year has been tough for young people, with an interruption to schooling and limited access to social and youth groups and activities. But we want to recognise their resilience and celebrate their achievements with our new council award. The Pride of Myland Award will launch this spring and will be open to three different age categories: preschool (up to 4 years); primary school (4 – 11 years); and secondary school (11 – 16 years). About the award Young people will be asked to enter their project or activity that meets one of the award categories such as: • Caring for the environment & nature • Helping others in our community • Tackling climate change & sustainability issues • Improving health and wellbeing
