Mylander - Issue 86
12 Council Reports There are lots of ways to take part! Perhaps you know of young people that have supported others who have found life difficult during lockdown by being a good friend or helping out. They might have decided to keep their local area tidy or had some good ideas for recycling items to address sustainability issues. Maybe they’ve spent more time outdoors and have encouraged others to cycle or walk more—which can improve health and wellbeing. We know that coronavirus has affected normal routines, but we would encourage schools or groups to take part even where they may have had to adapt activities (perhaps meeting remotely or using Zoom). How to enter Young people could enter the award as individuals or in small groups, and we will ask local preschools / schools and children’s groups (e.g. Brownies / Guides / Cubs / Scouts) to nominate and send entries to the council. A judging panel will award prizes to the winners and certificates of achievement for the runners up. Local schools and groups will be contacted during February with full details about the award and asked to take part, and the award will also be publicised through the council website: Visit the council website HERE Social media and our News Update e-newsletter: CLICK HERE
