Council Reports The organisation’s focus areas are: • Physical and mental wellbeing - improving lives through increased physical activity in a natural environment; • Working with groups and individuals from a variety of settings - reducing social isolation and improving mental health at the same time; • Training, education and the community – working with schools and community groups to increase awareness of the benefits of food growing and accessing nature for both physical and mental wellbeing; • Covid-19 response – responding creatively to those in our community most affected by the Covid-19 crisis. An example of work in this area can be found in this Together We Grow video The first grow at home project ran from spring 2020 and was designed to support people and their physical and mental health during the early part of lockdown. The project was aimed at helping those feeling lonely or isolated, by connecting people to nature and each other. Members of this project enjoyed active gardening and also commented that they felt connected and supported in their activities through the information provided and the chance to keep in touch with other members.
