Mylander - Issue 86
From inside the community Women’s Institute As we start this New Year, it is with a degree of uncertainty, as our hopes of restarting our W.I. soon diminish. However, it is with a sense of positivity that the programme already planned by our Committee will be listed. Obviously, the meetings may or may not take place. So…..In February John Jones will entertain us with more of his great films of East Anglia. In March, Andy Bennett will give a talk on Social History through the eyes of Mildred, my Austin 7 and in April, Jade Hamnett will speak on The joys of kiln-fused glass. All though the Pandemic we have frequently been asked to continue to BE KIND. Our amazing Committee have certainly lived up to this. As well as phoning each member regularly to check on their well-being, each member received a ‘goodie’ bag for Christmas. Their kindness and caring have been very much appreciated by all the members. Our thanks are given to them. If you would like to become a member of our caring W.I., then do seriously think about it – you will not be disappointed! The meetings take place on the first Friday of the month (apart from April) at 7.30pm in Highwoods Community Centre. We look forward to the time when we can welcome YOU but, in the meantime, KEEP SAFE and WATCH THIS SPACE! Sandra Jones 25
