Mylander Issue 87

12 Council Reports The different types of seeds on offer mean that some seeds can be grown on a windowsill or in a pot. Participants can also join online sessions or groups to get tips on growing food from seeds. The scheme is also about bringing people together and fostering a connection with nature and the pleasure we get from gardening. With the current plans for the easing of restrictions, Together we Grow also hopes that those who wish to, will bring their seedlings to the community garden in Highwoods Country Park, to join in with others working in the communal gardens. An important aspect of the scheme is that many people can join in – fifty people signed up, but other household members are welcome to take part in any of the activities, especially in the community garden. All things being well, there will be a community event in the autumn when participants will bring their crops along to celebrate their achievements. Keep an eye out for updates on the scheme on the Council’s Facebook page and website. Cllr Jocelyn Law
