From inside the community Five ways to improve your mental health It is fair to say that the last year, has really tested our state of mind and pushed us to the brink of what we are able to endure. With isolation from family and friends, lockdowns, the constant fear of the virus, working from home and school closures; 2020 took a huge toll on our mental health. As I write this, we have an end date in sight and there has never been a better time to move forward with a more positive and mindful outlook. We all know the key things that will improve our overall health and wellbeing – exercise, eating healthy, getting the right amount of sleep etc. so this article looks beyond that, to hopefully give you some new and exciting ideas to try. 1. Get outside Getting outside in the fresh air has many physical and mental health, from improving your immune system, boosting your mood, and sharpening your focus.
