24 From inside the community St Helena Hospice St Helena Hospice Wills Month returns in September Make or amend your Will this September as part of St Helena Hospice Wills Month and help local people face incurable illness and bereavement. Having a Will is really important, whatever your age or circumstances. Making a Will can allow you to ensure your affairs are in order, final wishes are met and your loved ones are looked after in the future. Fliss Klarner, fundraising manager at St Helena Hospice, said: “If you haven’t made your Will yet or you need to update it, this September is the perfect time to do so. Local solicitors are waiving their usual fees for writing or amending your Will in return for a donation to your local hospice, with all the money raised going towards supporting our local community.” 1 in 5 patients and families cared for by St Helena Hospice are supported by donations made from gifts in Wills. St Helena Hospice believes everyone living with an incurable illness has the right to live and die with choice, compassion and dignity. Families deserve to be cared for and anyone coping with loss and bereavement should be supported through their grief. Fliss added: “Our lives are all made up of stories we cherish and that make us who we are. A gift in your Will can help give hope and comfort to another person’s story. Every gift pledged in a Will, large or small, will help St Helena Hospice to be here for future generations that follow in our footsteps. When the time is right for you to remember a charity in your Will, please remember St Helena Hospice.” Appointments can only be booked direct with your chosen solicitor and are available from Monday 30th August to Friday 1st October 2021.
