Mylander - Issue 88
28 From inside the community Mill Road Surgery Hello everyone, Thank goodness we have some warm, sunny weather at last! There have been a few changes to staff at Mill Road over the last few months. We have a new Practice Nurse, Helen Allan, who is very experienced and has a special interest in diabetes; she has already settled in well and will be a valuable member of the team. Also two new GP’s, Dr Eleanor Foley and Israa Ridha will be starting in June and July. Our Primary Care Network, which includes Mill Road and four other surgeries, have employed a Pharmacist and a Paramedic Practitioner to work across the five sites. COVID VACCINATIONS Hopefully lots of you will have had your vaccines - if you haven’t please contact the surgery. At the time of writing this, 8,500 of Mill Rd patients have had their first vaccine and 5,575 have had both vaccines. We couldn’t have done this without the commitment of our staff, past and present, and all the volunteers. Thank you to everyone. Foreign Travel At the moment this is still all a bit up in the air, the safest and easiest way to have a holiday seems to be to stay in UK! If you are planning a foreign holiday please get your travel assessment forms into us in plenty of time, eight weeks before you travel is ideal. You can find the forms on our website or you can collect a paper copy from Reception. Hope everyone has a safe and sunny summer. Tina Potter, Nurse Manger, Mill Road Surgery
