Mylander - Issue 88
Council Reports We know many of you are enjoying the summer planting of the council’s planters, with rainbow colours that celebrate the great work of the NHS and their looking after us all this past year. This planting is an important part of our ‘Greening the Parish’ work to encourage and support biodiversity in our area. We are also looking at using planting as part of longer- term plans, to mark the impact of the pandemic across the community. If you have views or ideas, please do get in touch (see email below). A reminder that if residents need support on any hate crimes / incidents, that three of the councillors can offer support as Hate Crime Awareness Ambassadors (see contact information box on page four) You can also report incidents to the council as it is a Hate Incident Reporting Centre, and this will help the council monitor issues across the community. All information will be treated in confidence. This is an important part of the council’s community engagement work, as we are committed to ensuring that all in our community feel they are treated with tolerance and respect. It’s been great to hear how our residents who signed up for the ‘Seed Giveaway’ (run in partnership with Together we Grow) have been getting on with growing a variety of flowers and vegetables. As restrictions ease, we look forward to a community event at the Community Garden in Highwoods Country Park in the autumn. Our monthly council e-newsletter ‘News Update’ is an easy way to keep in touch with council or community news, between issues of the Mylander. If you would like us to include an item about your community or group activity, please email us here Sign up to receive the e-newsletter by clicking here We are always keen to hear from you! You’re welcome to come along to our meetings, which are held on the second Monday of each month (please check the website for meeting information / location beforehand).
