Mylander - Issue 89

10 Resources, Policy & Strategy Committee The committee aims to make sure the Parish has what it needs and has access to the facilities and amenities it wants. As a relatively “new” Parish Council a lot of responsibilities are held by the Borough and County Council; however, we are working towards very much doing what we can to make quality of life improvements for the things the larger authorities cannot provide, due to expenditure restrictions. In our most recent meeting, we have agreed to cover the cost of long-awaited drainage improvement works to be undertaken by Essex Highways at the War Memorial and install two benches on the path between New Braiswick Park and North Station, as well as supplying pressure treated machine rounded posts along a part of Hakewill Way. All of these have been initiated by residents and fully supported by individual Councillors. We are lucky to have proactive MCC, Ward and County councillors in Myland and Highwoods working hard for the benefit of residents, and we will continue to support them where we can. The Action plan on our website I hope shows the breadth of topics Councillors are working on and how committed we are to making a positive impact. Cllr Alison Jay Chair Resource, Policy & Strategy Committee Community Engagement Committee The committee and its members have been active on a variety of projects in the community. We’re delighted that the Spring Bulb Giveaway is taking place on Saturday 13 November, which marks a return to our regular community activities.
