Cllr Jocelyn Law Chair, Community Engagement Committee Community Special Constables Could you make a difference to our community? Do you have time to spare and an interest in helping the community? Essex Police would like a Special Constable in every community in Essex. Community Special Constables are new, different, and deliver visible policing at a really local level. A Community Special Constable is focused and they dedicate their voluntary service to their local area, in this case Myland. In return Myland Community Council would pay the duty allowances and expenses of their officers and they’ll have a say in the issues that their local Specials deal with. They are focused on high visibility reassurance patrols, engaging with local businesses and community groups and aiming to reduce low level crime and antisocial behaviour.
