16 Churches The Well Methodist Church We opened, as planned after lockdown, for morning worship on Sunday 25th July. Risk assessments and procedures were (and still are) in place to keep everyone safe and comfortable. We did not serve hot meals in our Hall on a Thursday to our MakeLunch families during the summer holidays, because of the risk of spreading coronavirus. So, instead this year, we cooked the food on our premises and then deliveredmeals toour families inmicrowaveable containers. Thanks to our faithful volunteers, this worked well and about thirty meals were delivered each week. The Food Pantry, which we plan to operate on a Tuesday, has not fully started yet, so in the meantime we have a drop- in between 9am and 11am on a Tuesday. Children and adults are welcome to come for a free ‘Cuppa’ and cake. On Sunday, 21st November, we have our Caring Service, when we will collect donations for three local charities (see our website for details). Any donations should be brought to our Caring Service at 10.30am, when Mark Snelling will tell us about his work with refugees in Colchester. Our Candlelit Carol Service is on Sunday 19th December at 4pm followed by light refreshments.
