Mylander - Issue 89

Learning & Growing 1st & 2nd Myland Rainbows Having spent some of last term meeting outside, we have now returned to our first indoor meetings since March 2020. In June, we celebrated the Queen’s official 95th birthday, sending her our birthday wishes in the form of various postcards. In August, we were thrilled to receive a letter from Balmoral Castle expressing the Queen’s thanks. This term, we are enjoying catching up with various badge activities and also welcomed six new Rainbows this term. Also we will be marking both Bonfire night and Remembrance with special challenge badges. Whilst we are still observing some covid precautions, everyone is really looking forward to getting back to the usual fun adventures in 2022. Lorraine Boyle Myland Rainbow Guider Myland Preschool CIC We have had a good start to the new term and were very excited about starting back and welcoming all the children old and new, who have all settled in well. We said farewell to 24 children who have taken their next step onto primary school. Sadly, the covid restrictions meant we were not able to give them a graduation with parents attending, but we had our own graduation in preschool and they all received a book and a certificate and parents were sent a photograph of that. On Friday 24th September, we had Sally from Rob Sambrook photography in preschool and parents now have the hard decision of which of the lovely photos they order! We have had themes of all about me, my body, my senses, fruit, sports and autumn throughout this half term and we will have themes of fireworks and Diwali, the armed forces, nursery rhymes, road safety, Hanukkah, Christingle and Christmas throughout next half term. 37
