2nd Myland Brownies We’ve really been enjoying getting out into the community this term with our Brownies - you may even have spotted us! In January, we visited the Co-op at Chesterwell and gave the Brownies a challenge in their sixes, of spending £5 per group to buy much needed items for the foodbank. The girls worked hard to get the best value for money; many of themhad never considered the cost of anything, (other than sweets!), but really seemed to enjoy the challenge. There is a collection point for the foodbank at the Co-op so this worked really well. It fitted in well with our “Skills for my future” theme this term, which has also involved cooking, looking at job skills and careers, leadership skills and how to use tools. Our second local walk was to the fish and chip shop. We made our way there in groups by tossing a coin at each path junction to decide if we should turn left or right. Imagine their amazement when we all magically arrive at the chip shop at the same time ready for our chips. Lastly we are looking forward to taking our older girls to Thorrington camp for the weekend, so the girls can enjoy their first Brownie sleepover before they go up to Guides. It’s been a weird couple of years for them, and great to be back to normal kinds of activities again.
