South West London CCG Annual Report and Accounts 2020/21
Sutton Reaching people experiencing health inequalities During the pandemic, one particular engagement challenge we faced in Sutton was how to reach the seldom heard and digitally excluded residents. We worked with our Sutton Health Champions who are embedded in all 18 wards across the borough. We have 67 Sutton Health Champions, who all live in the ward they reach out to and include members of the public, community groups, residents’ associations, faith leaders and volunteers. Through the champions, we identified effective community distribution channels (including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and email distribution) and have a total reach of more than 180,000 residents in total.
