With 20 years’ experience in the tech industry, Funmi is driven by how tech presents numerous opportunities for improving and transforming healthcare. She runs a monthly X space called Tech Meets Health which connects a growing community discussing all things health, tech & Web3. The Eli App is a digital health platform that aims to empower, educate, and engage children with chronic health conditions like Sickle Cell. The team are offering a solution that rewards children for participating and completing weekly/monthly goals focussed on mindset, creativity, nutrition, hydration and sleep. He was previously Chief Executive at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, and had also held the role at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust and Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust, which he successfully led out of quality special measures in 2017. A clinician by background, Matthew started his career in the NHS as a nurse, before moving into health management and taking on senior roles in a number of large NHS organisations in London.
