42 | Professor Erika Denton Consultant Radiologist, Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital Trust and Director of Rupeka Ltd Erika is a consultant radiologist and was Medical Director in Norwich from 2018 to 2023. She was one of the team of National Medical Directors from 2023 to 2025 with an extensive portfolio in the Transformation Directorate including clinical leadership of digital programmes, artificial intelligence, research and pathway transformation. Erika’s appointment to the role of Medical Director in 2018 followed 2 years as Associate Medical Director. Erika undertakes consultancy work in her non-NHS time in health technology, change management and diagnostics service provision. As National Advisor on Imaging to NHS Improvement & NHS England Erika provided advice from 2016 – 2022, she led work to improve imaging services across England and continues to work with NHS Digital on implementation of artificial intelligence in imaging. Erika was the National Clinical Director for Diagnostics at NHS England with responsibility for clinical leadership, advice and guidance across the NHS and covering all diagnostic services from 2013-2016. Satellite Sessions Rob Knott Commercial Director at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Rob is Commercial Director at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. Previously, he was Chief Commercial Officer of Digital across Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He also delivered commercial clinics with many healthtech start-ups and scale-ups on how to sell successfully into the NHS. Rob authored NHS England’s new ‘Strategic Framework for NHS Commercial’ in 2023, aiming to modernise the management of the NHS’ £36 billion annual spend with over 110,000 suppliers. He was National Director of NHS Procurement in the Department of Health and Social Care and a core member of the Carter Review team, authoring the national NHS Procurement Strategy ‘Better Procurement, Better Value, Better Care’. Prior to healthcare, Rob led major Commercial and Procurement Transformation programmes in the Department for Work and Pensions, Policing, Justice, Olympics, and Social Care. In the private sector, he was an executive leader in several blue-chip firms including Lehmans and Goldman Sachs.
