She qualified in Sudan and completed postgraduate training in Orthodontics, alongside a diploma in research methodology and biostatistics, before moving to the UK, where she began her clinical practice in 2019. She has gained qualifications including LDS RCS Eng, Cert Rest DP UCL, and an MBA. Alongside her clinical work, Dr Mohammed founded Explore Dentistry, a platform dedicated to helping dentists access highquality educational opportunities while planning their careers and professional development. She is passionate about lifelong learning, innovation in dental education, and building a supportive dental community. www.exploredentistry.com Catherine Kendall Consultant Clinical Scientist, Biophotonics Research Unit at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Catherine Kendall is a Consultant Clinical Scientist with a dual role as Head of Diagnostic Radiology Physics and Head of Biophotonics Research at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Her research focuses on optical diagnostics for cancer diagnosis, effectively “shining light” on disease. She specialises in the use of Raman Spectroscopy, a technique in which scattered light is collected from tissue illuminated with a laser, providing the molecular (biochemical) fingerprint or “optical biopsy” of the tissue, which changes with disease progression. She has developed this work from proof of concept during her PhD through to laboratorybased studies and the production of working prototype Raman probes, leading to in vivo trials funded by the NIHR. This work has been carried out in collaboration with colleagues at the University of Bristol and the University of Exeter.
