What we will do: The projected increase of people aged 65 or over in the next 20 years. The accumulated impact of behaviours and exposures earlier in life, combined with functional decline leads to increased levels of disease in older people. The rate of hospital admissions for injuries due to falls in those aged 65 and over is significantly higher than the national and regional averages.
