In Petre House, our aim is to prepare and nurture our boys to develop new
life skills and to become well-rounded young gentlemen. With foundations
built on trust and shared values, we aim to help our students develop in
maturity whilst maintaining a healthy sense of fun and adventure.
The students begin their public examination courses whilst in Petre. Our
staff strive to help them adjust to the increased academic demands they will
face through close support and guidance. Academic rigour is complemented
by numerous activities for the boys in the
evenings and at weekends, such as voluntary
service, tennis, rugby tournaments, debating,
theatre trips, cookery and technology clubs.
Inter-house competitions are popular
and competitive. The Petre House rugby
team maintains an on-going rivalry with
their day boy counterparts. Events such
as these inspire the boys to succeed and we encourage them to organise
their own social and charitable events, in order to promote leadership and
organisational skills.
