Brentwoodian 2022

Lastly, though not a player, our coach Mrs Juniper must have a particular mention. We would not be anywhere without her; she has not only been a coach but also an inspiration to us. I’m both so proud and honoured to have led the girls this year, and must also thank Niamh Mills for being such a great Vice Captain. Whilst our time playing netball as school students at Brentwood is up, Heather, Niamh and I can’t wait to see the girls at Old Brentwoods Sports Day to give them a run for their money! By Ellie Marshall Since the start of this season the 2nd VII has gone from strength to strength. Although this year was the first time we had played with each other as a team, we quickly bonded and throughout the season went on to beat not only 2nd teams but also many 1st teams. Our season started back in September with an unfortunate loss to the Old Brentwoods, closely losing out by 2 goals after a great performance by all. Since then we have improved so much as individuals and as a team, becoming close on and off the court. One of our most memorable and proud moments of our season was beating New Hall’s 1st VII 37-11 with amazing performances from Libby McLauchlan in the mid-court, Olivia Carr in the defensive circle, and Coach’s Player, Sophia Brennan, winning interceptions all around the court. Over the season we scored a total of 238 goals due to the amazing shooting from the team and a consistent performance from Izzie Sawyer. We would like to thank the team for their commitment and determination and on behalf of everyone, we would like to thank Miss Atkinson for such an enjoyable season. The passion and dedication she shows in supporting us to become better players cannot be appreciated enough. We are all incredibly grateful and cannot wait for next season!
