Brentwoodian 2022

We ran our House week in May with a range of different activities from our headline event of Dodgeball to our Charity Carnival and Talent show. We had a great week and there was lots of money raised for our charity, Little Havens. We have a really close relationship with this charity and have supported them for many years. We have had visits to the Hospice which was a great experience for all involved to really see what the charity does and how it helps children and families in need. Sammy Li, Oliver Maltby, Claire Hirst and Cameron Davies also put on a Christmas and Jubilee concert for the staff, children and families at Little Havens and these were both great days out for all. We look forward to our continued relationship with this charity in the coming years. To finish the year off we had our last big House Event, Track and Field!! We laughed, we cried, we broke several school records and overall we finished in 2nd place narrowly missing out on the top spot to North House. All of our students put their best effort in and were gracious in victory and in defeat and this is one of our values as a House. Joe Payne managed to break his own record during the 100m sprint and we had some amazing relay teams and javelin and shot put throwers! The high jump, triple jump and long jump were all a shining success as well with all of our contestants leaping into applause-worthy spots on the scoreboard. We left the day full of memories, smiles, a few year group and individual trophies and an overwhelming sense of pride. After all of the events and as the year came to a close and we said goodbye to Mr Wright as our Head of House, we were able to once again hold the much deserved House Cup high and celebrate becoming the OVERALL HOUSE CHAMPIONS for the third year in a row!! WELL DONE TO EVERY MEMBER OF WEALD HOUSE AND ALWAYS REMEMBER… WHERE THERE’S A WEALD THERE’S A WAY!! 171
