Brentwoodian 2022

Thanks to a superb batch of Lower Sixth and Year 11 students, the 4th XI was blessed with some fine footballers in 2021/22. We managed to win seven games in a row in Michaelmas and this included some excellent performances and goals. Goal of the Season belongs to Dami Odelusi - a fantastic effort on Forest’s pitch, cutting in from the right 20 yards out and hitting the underside of the bar and going in. Our Player of the Season was awarded first of all by the players, who voted for Jeremiah Modza-Smith. Manager’s Player of the Season was awarded to Blake Weedon. Both players were superb throughout the year and will no doubt succeed much higher up next season. The biggest positive from the season was the attitude and commitment of the players. We were able to field a pretty stable side and develop some strong partnerships and relationships. It was a pleasure to work with the boys all season. By Greg Justham 4TH XI A successful season with lots of opportunity for students to participate in some very competitive fixtures. On numerous occasions we were outdone by bad weather however the campaign finished with figures of, played 12 won 4, drew 1 and lost 7. Standout team performances came against Forest School winning 6-2 and a 7-0 victory over Highgate. Thato Kekana-Gager won the golden boot award scoring 12 times. The versatility of George Mortlock (Goalkeeper and left back) deserves a special mention. Freddie Abbott, Behshad Mobasheri and Finlay Stronach all progressed up the squads. Stalwarts and Upper Sixth leavers, Alex Hung and Ross Wilson, were a credit to the School showing commitment and passion week in week out. By Jaik Mickleburgh 5TH XI 90
