THE BIG PITCH 6 | Foreword Welcome to our NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme Big Pitch event. The aim of this evening is to acknowledge and celebrate some of the excellent accomplishments that our Clinical Entrepreneurs have achieved this year and to welcome the new year seven cohort of nearly 200 Clinical Entrepreneurs. We are all aware of the challenges that lie ahead for the NHS as demand continues to rise and as we continue to recover from the pandemic. However, challenging times can often bring opportunities for change through necessity. We have seen in recent times the positive impact innovation can have when we come together to address the most difficult of problems. To see so many of our workforce continue to step forward with novel ideas and solutions to improve our patients’ experience of the NHS is truly inspiring. The programme has now recruited over 1000 Clinical Entrepreneurs. Each bring their own unique insight, experience, and expertise to any problem they see. This programme embraces those different approaches and supports our Clinical Entrepreneurs to succeed in their ambitions to deliver continual improvements in the services we provide. The NHS is globally renowned for the excellence, passion and dedication of its workforce and for its long history of ingenuity and creativity. With the NHS celebrating its 75th year, it is wonderful to see so many of our frontline staff continuing in this tradition, seeking to drive positive change in the way we deliver care with the support of the programme. My welcome also to the new cohort of clinical entrepreneurs starting this year , I look forward to seeing how together we can continue to improve and transform patient care and services.
